Metal Building Designs

At LaClef Construction, our slogan, “Not your Grandpa’s pole barn" means exactly that. We don’t build our metal buildings with solid poles, flat roof purlins, or the archaic double header system. These aforementioned practices have gone by the way-side in the post-frame industry because of their structural inefficiencies.

Our interlocking truss or column design is the industry standard. Our premium laminated columns cost a little more but it’s a small expense for the structural benefit. Laminated columns avoid weak spots and have better treatment penetration. This design also keeps your roof loads bearing directly onto the footings.

Like premium packages, we use treated uplift blocks that are designed to keep the building from lifting out of the ground during strong winds. We can also attach directly to the concrete with brackets if you prefer. Contact us to learn more about our warranties.

We always go above and beyond jurisdictional minimums to ensure you the most structurally sound building investment possible. We always pull permits and comply with local codes and inspections.

Supplier Options

Wick Buildings have a great reputation and rival even the household name Morton for quality. Wick Buildings have excellent warranties and rigid product specifications. A lot of other contractors will budge on structural components post size, girt size, purlin attachment, and grade of lumber used, but we will not.

Our Locally Sourced Buildings are a good alternative. We source this material from a great local company that deals with high-quality materials. All of their trusses are premium MSR lumber with no bark edges. They make sure they don’t run any thin steel coil keeping their minimums at .0153, well above the 29g minimum.

Some local companies use Oklahoma suppliers known for running thinner metal that technically meets the 29g minimum but is considerably and noticeably thinner.
